GAME DAY 51: vs Oceanic

A preview of tonight’s game between the Rimouski Oceanic and Saint John Sea Dogs…

When and where: Tonight at 7 p.m., Harbour Station

Records: The Oceanic are first in the East Division, third overall in the QMJHL and sixth in the CHL Top 10 Rankings with a record of 32-13-2-1 for 67 points. The Sea Dogs are second in the Maritimes Division and seventh overall with a 26-17-1-6 record for 59 points.

Last games: The Oceanic are coming off a 4-3 win over the Shawinigan Cataractes on Saturday. Michael Joly had two goals while singles came from Simon Bourque and Anthony DeLuca. Philippe Desrosiers made 23 saves in the win. The Sea Dogs are coming off a 4-0 loss in Blainville-Boisbriand on Saturday. Alex Bishop made 29 saves in the loss.

2014-15 head-to-head: This is the first meeting of the season between the two. They meet again on Feb. 14 in Rimouski.

Last meeting: Feb. 7, 2014 at Harbour Station where the Oceanic defeated the Sea Dogs 4-2. Michael Joly had two goals for Rimouski while Ryan MacKinnon and William Couture also scored. Olivier LeBlanc and Jason Cameron had goals for Saint John. Philippe Desrosiers made 14 saves in the win while Sebastien Auger made 28 stops in the loss.
