Like Sebastien Auger, Mark Tremaine will
be taking his talents to the Canadian university ranks for the upcoming season.
The StFX X-Men officially announced today that Tremaine will join the team for the 2015-16 campaign. He was one of
six recruits to be announced.
"Mark is a very high character
individual, who is a very dependable two way player," said StFX head coach
Brad Peddle in a release. "He was the captain this past year in Saint John
and possesses very strong leadership qualities. His work ethic is highly
regarded and he is a fierce competitor. Mark is a big, strong forward who will
be counted on to provide an honest two-way game to our lineup. He is great
addition and will fit into our group very well."
As an overage player last season, the
Dartmouth native scored 14 goals and added 25 assists in 57 games with Saint
John. He also had three goals and four assists in five playoff matches.
Tremaine was named captain of the Sea
Dogs in January following the Olivier LeBlanc trade.
The centre played four seasons in the QMJHL
with the Sea Dogs, Victoriaville Tigres and Moncton Wildcats.
Former Sea Dogs forward Michael
Kirkpatrick has spent the past four seasons with StFX.
