MONCTON - The Saint John Sea Dogs lost yet another close game on Friday in Moncton.
The Sea Dogs are off to a 0-3-1-0 start following a 6-4 loss to the Wildcats. There were certainly some positives from the game - Saint John scored more than one goal and even led for a brief period. But the 'Cats proved to be too strong.
Alexis Girard, Anthony Boucher and Cedric Pare all netted their first goals of the season. Daniel Hardie scored his second. Cody Porter, making his QMJHL debut, made 29 saves in the loss.
Mika Cyr scored twice for Moncton while singles came from Simon Le Coultre, Jakob Pelletier, Jonathan Aspirot and Jeremy McKenna. Mark Grametbauer made 30 saves in the victory.
Following Thursday's offensive struggles against Charlottetown, the Sea Dogs have to be happy with Friday's showing despite the loss. They'll look for their first win of the season on Sunday in Sydney.
More on Friday's game tomorrow on SN.
