In the Sea Dogs' final regular season game at the Moncton Coliseum, Kevin Gursoy scored the lone goal, a first period marker that came with the team already down 3-0.
Saint John got off to a rough start on Sunday and never recovered. Jeremy McKenna scored shorthanded just 2:57 into the game and then Jakob Pelletier and Adam Capannelli scored just over a minute apart later on.
McKenna scored his second of the game at 1:17 of the third and then Daniil Miromanov made it a 5-1 final by scoring at 11:47.
Both of McKenna's goals were scored while shorthanded. Saint John's power play had a very rough day, scoring on just one of 11 opportunities. Moncton went 0/8 on the man advantage.
Mark Grametbauer made 19 saves in the win. Alex D'Orio made 34 stops in the loss.

The Sea Dogs were without defencemen Radim Salda (world juniors), Zachary Leclerc (healthy) and Samuel Duchesne (injury); and forwards Ostap Safin (world juniors), Nick Deakin-Poot (upper body), Landon Quinney and Aiden MacIntosh.
NOTES
Shots were just 39-20 in favour of Moncton despite all of the power play time... Moncton had 13 shots in goal in each period... Moncton now leads the league in shorthanded goals with 10... Saint John has now allowed the second most shorthanded goals with eight... Cedric Pare's six-game point streak came to an end... Alex D'Orio recorded an assist on Kevin Gursoy's goal... good crowd of 5,882 on hand for this game... this was likely the final appearance by Saint John at the Moncton Coliseum. It's unlikely the two will meet in the playoffs.
