Saint John Sea Dogs defenceman Radim Salda is gaining more and more attention.
Salda was ranked 53rd amongst North American skaters for the 2018 NHL Draft by Central Scouting on Monday. He was the only Sea Dog to make the list.
The 18-year-old continues to impress in his first CHL season. In 39 games, Salda has eight goals and 21 assists, placing him second of the Sea Dogs in points. He was held pointless with the Czech Republic at the world juniors, but played well.
Former Sea Dogs captain Joe Veleno was ranked 13th by Central Scouting. Veleno is finally starting to have the stretch we've all been waiting to see from him, recording two goals and 12 assists over his past six games with the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
Veleno will be a team captain later this week at the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Guelph.
Veleno was one of seven Voltigeurs players to make Central Scouting's list. There were 36 QMJHL players on the list in total, headlined by Halifax's Filip Zadina at No. 2.
