Game Day 22: at Val-d'Or

VAL-D'OR, Que. - The Saint John Sea Dogs will look to get things back on track tonight in Val-d'Or.

After winning the first two games of this five-game road trip, the Sea Dogs stumbled defensively on Tuesday night in Shawinigan, falling 8-5 to the Cataractes.

Tonight, the Dogs will try to start a new winning streak against the Foreurs. Game time is 8 p.m.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 8-12-1-0 for 17 points (fifth Maritimes, ninth Eastern, 15th QMJHL) while the Foreurs are 10-9-2-0 for 22 points (second West, fourth Western, 10th QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off an 8-5 loss in Shawinigan on Tuesday. Alex Drover, Brady Burns, Nicholas Deakin-Poot, Maxim Cajkovic and Jeremie Poirier all scored for Saint John. Zachary Bouthillier made 34 saves in the loss. The Foreurs are coming off a 3-2 shootout win in Quebec City on Sunday. David Noel and Jeremy Michel scored regulation time goals for Val-d'Or. Jonathan Lemieux made 29 saves in the win.

2019-20 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 0-1-0-0 against the Foreurs this season while Val-d'Or is 1-0-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Oct. 11 at TD Station where the Foreurs defeated the Sea Dogs 7-5. Emil Lessard-Aydin, Karl Boudrias, William Provost, Jacob Gaucher, Jérémy Michel, Maxence Guenette and Alexandre Doucet scored for Val-d'Or. Brady Burns scored twice for Saint John while singles came from Ben Badalamenti, Jeremie Poirier and Matt Gould. Jonathan Lemieux made 25 stops in the win. Noah Patenaude made 37 stops in the loss.

Foreur to watch: Alexandre Doucet is fourth in rookie assists with 11.

Random stat: The Foreurs have the second worst power play in the league with a rating of 14.6% while the Sea Dogs have the worst penalty kill with a rating of 64.3%.
