MONCTON - Things have been rough in Sea Dogs land - and things won't be getting any easier in the coming weeks.
Saint John, 5-11-0-1 on the year and 2-7-1-0 in their last 10 games, begins a gruelling stretch of road games Saturday night in Halifax. Thursday's home loss to the Rimouski Oceanic was the Sea Dogs' final home game until Nov. 22 - a stretch that will see the team play six consecutive road games.
Saturday's contest at Scotiabank Centre will be an interesting one given how the Sea Dogs have played against the Mooseheads this season. Saint John is 2-1 against Halifax with their lone loss featuring a 4-2 Sea Dogs lead at one point.
The Sea Dogs will begin a five-game Quebec road trip next Friday in Boisbriand. Here's who they'll be playing on the trip:
Nov. 9 at Blainville-Boisbriand - 5 p.m.
Nov. 10 at Victoriaville - 5 p.m.
Nov. 12 at Shawinigan - 8 p.m.
Nov. 14 at Val-d'Or - 8 p.m.
Nov. 15 at Rouyn-Noranda - 8:30 p.m.
The good news for the Sea Dogs is that only Val-d'Or currently sits in the top half of the standings. The bad news: Saint John has just one win in seven road games this season and are 0-5 against Quebec based teams. The team will need to try and turn things around on this trip.
This will be Saint John's longest stretch of road games all season.
