Beauregard has not played since December 28 because of
ankle injury. A couple of weeks later, the 20-year old was diagnosed with
thyroid cancer. Tonight, he returns to the ice.
It’s sure to be an emotional night for both squads.
Beauregard will forever be considered a Sea Dogs legend after scoring the
President’s Cup winning goal in double overtime of game six last year. It was
the only playoff goal he scored with Saint John.
Beauregard registered seven goals and six assists in 28
games with the Sea Dogs after he was acquired mid-season from the Rouyn-Noranda
Huskies. He played in two games this year before being traded to Chicoutimi to
make room for Charles Olivier-Roussel. In 27 games with the Sagueneens,
Beauregard has five goals and nine assists.
Back on October 29 at Harbour Station, Beauregard fought
Grant West in the Sea Dogs’ 6-0 win. Then on December 4, he registered an
assist in Chicoutimi’s 8-3 win in Saint John.
