Three former Sea Dogs will take part in the Atlantic
University Sport Men’s Hockey Championship series beginning tonight in
Fredericton.
Travis Fullerton and the University of New Brunswick
Varsity Reds host Charles Bergeron, Kevin Charland and the Universite de
Moncton Aigles Bleaus in game one of the best-of-five series this evening. Game
two goes down tomorrow night before the series shifts to Moncton.
Fullerton and the nationally No. 1 ranked V-Reds swept
their semi-final series, defeating the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers
3-0. Fullerton, who spent one-and-a-half seasons with Saint John, went
3-0 with a 1.98 goals against average and .920 save percentage.
Moncton beat the Saint Mary’s Huskies in four games in
their semi-final series. In seven playoff games, Bergeron has three assists while
Charland has no points.

With UNB hosting Nationals this year, both teams have
already earned a berth in the tournament.

Out west, Jacob DeSerres’ Calgary Dinos are in the Canada
West final against Saskatchewan. That series begins on Friday.
DeSerres is Calgary’s third goaltender and hasn’t seen
any playoff action. He had an 0-3 record in the regular season with a 3.97 GAA
and a 0.875 SV%.
