Every year when the calendar flips to August, you’ve basically
got two weeks to prepare for the start of the junior hockey season. This year,
you have even less time thanks to the Canada-Russia Challenge.
Team Canada will begin gathering in Toronto tomorrow to
prepare for the four-game tournament. The Sea Dogs’ Jonathan Huberdeau will be
playing for Canada along with several other prominent prospects.
The Canada-Russia Challenge begins on August 9 in Russia
and ends on August 14 in Halifax.
The Sea Dogs haven’t announced their full training camp roster
or schedule yet but it should be starting sometime around August 13-14. Training
camp should be interesting this year with lots of roster spots up for grabs.
