American Chad Krys continues to top HockeyProspect.com’s 2014 QMJHL Entry Draft rankings.
The website released their second rankings for this year’s
QMJHL Draft this afternoon. Krys, a Connecticut born defenseman, also topped
their first list which was released last month.
Defensemen Samuel Girard and Michael Campoli of the
Quebec AAA league are ranked second and third respectively. A couple of
Atlantic Canadians round out the top five as Newfoundland centre Jordan Maher
is ranked fourth and Cape Breton left winger Mitchell Balmas is fifth.
HockeyProspect.com’s full top 10 can be found here.
Maher, the website’s biggest riser this month, leads the Newfoundland & Labrador Major Midget Hockey League in scoring with 21 goals
and 41 points in 20 games with the Central Ice Pak. Balmas, who was ranked
second in last month’s list, is fifth in Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League scoring with 19 goals and 45 points in 28 games with the Cape Breton Tradesmen.
The Sea Dogs currently hold one first-round pick (their
own). If they miss the playoffs they will be entered into the coin toss for the
first overall pick.
Wow, that Krys kid sounds fantastic. Dogs new slogan should be "Tank For Krys Sake!"
