Bateman, prospect Pierre-Luc Lurette and
two second-round draft picks have been reportedly traded to Quebec by Saint John in exchange for overage defenseman Matt Murphy. Although the trade has not
been made official by the league, both teams have acknowledged the deal on
either their website or social media.
Bateman spent three seasons with the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires before joining the Sea Dogs last year. In 86 regular season QMJHL games he has recorded eight and 10 assists.
