Tonight’s game between the Sea Dogs and Titan in Bathurst will not happen.
The league tweeted this morning that the
match has been “cancelled.” Presumably, the game will be made up at some point
later this season. When that will be has not been announced.

The league has not announced any details as
to why the game was postponed, but a source within the Titan organization said
it stems from a car accident this morning involving defenseman Nicolas
Dumulong.
Police say Dumulong was taken to hospital with what appear to be minor injuries after his car went over an embankment behind the KC Irving Centre. Cst. Christine Albert says Dumulong was exiting his vehicle but didn't engage its parking break. Titan's Isabelle Morrier says Dumulong was taken to hospital for x-rays to his leg.
The Telegraph-Journal (paywall) has more details, saying that the car rolled over Dumulong’s leg.
Dumulong, in his third season with the Titan, leads the QMJHL in penalty minutes through 23 games.

UPDATE: This has been posted on the league website:
Early this morning player Nicolas Dumulong of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan was involved in a car accident at the KC Irving Centre parking lot. His car was set in motion after he parked it. The player was hit by it. Paramedics were called and Dumulong was taken to hospital. The organization contacted the League immediately. Natacha Llorens, Director of the Player Support Program made a direct follow-up with the players who witnessed the accident. A psychologist will follow the players as a precaution and the game scheduled for tonight between the Saint John Sea Dogs and Acadie-Bathurst Titan, will be postponed to a later date.
So the game is cancelled because one player broke his leg and others witnessed it so there might be psychological damage? Is this for real?
ReplyDeleteYou need to remember these are young boys, more importantly someones children. Relax, where is your empathy?
DeleteNot to mention a lot of schools were cancelled up in the northern part of the province today because of freezing rain. It might have been a good idea to cancel the game for that reason alone.
