Michael Hawkins/Saint John Sea Dogs |
The Sea Dogs dropped a close, entertaining match to the Charlottetown Islanders, falling 3-2 in a shootout. It was another evenly played contest between two squads that headed into action just three points apart in the standings.
Saint John has struggled since returning from the Christmas break but, even with some newcomers mixed into the lineup, looked good in this game and could have easily earned the extra point if another shot or two went their way in the shootout.
Joseph Ianniello and the newly acquired Dew Elliott scored for Saint John. Justin Robinson made 21 saves in the loss.
Brett Arsenault and Alexis Michaud scored for Charlottetown. Carter Bickle made 27 saves in the win.
