Game Day 39: vs Wildcats

SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs will look to build off Friday's 2-1 road win this afternoon on home ice.

The Sea Dogs, coming off a road victory in Charlottetown, kick off a stretch of five straight home games today when they host the Moncton Wildcats. Home wins haven't been easy for the Sea Dogs with the team sporting a 6-10-2-2 record at TD Station.

This will be Saint John's first game without leading scorer Vince Elie, who was traded to the Shawinigan Cataractes on Saturday.

Game time today is 3 p.m.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 2-1 win in Charlottetown on Friday. Vince Elie and Drew Elliott scored in the win. Patrick Leaver made 29 saves. The Wildcats are coming off a 4-1 win in Halifax last night. Yoan Loshing scored a pair of goals while singles came from Caleb Desnoyers and Vincent Collard. Jacob Steinman made 24 saves in the win.

2023-24 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 1-4-0-0 against the Wildcats this season while Moncton is 4-1-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Dec. 30 in Moncton where the Wildcats defeated the Sea Dogs 7-2. Olivier Boutin, Yoan Loshing, Oscar Plandowski, Thomas Auger, Preston Lounsbury, Shawn Carrier and Connor Trenholm all scored for Moncton. Pavel Simek and Mathis Gauthier had Saint John goals. Keegan Warren made 22 saves in the win. Patrick Leaver made 30 saves in the loss.
