Saint John Sea Dogs forward Matyas Cancik has been ruled out of Wednesday's QMJHL Prospects Game.

The QMJHL announced Tuesday that Cancik has been replaced by Alexis Guévin of the Victoriaville Tigres. Canick missed Sunday's Sea Dogs game in Drummondville with an injury.

Cancik, in his first season in the league, has posted two goals and six assists in 13 games with the Sea Dogs.

The QMJHL Prospects Game takes place at 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Gatineau's Slush Puppie Centre. The game can be seen on TVA Sports and FloHockey.

The Sea Dogs will still be well represented in the event, which features the 40 top QMJHL players eligible for the 2027 NHL Draft. Forwards Alexis Joseph, Jamie Glance and Oliver Ozogany along with defenseman Thomas Charbonneau will all participate.

Glance will play on Team Sidney Crosby while Joseph, Ozogany and Charbonneau will be part of Team Guy Lafleur.

This is the second year for the QMJHL Prospects Game. Last year, Team Lafleur defeated Team Crosby 6-5 in a shootout. Zachary Morin, William Yared, Dylan Rozzi, Cameron Chartrand, Olivers Murnieks and Rafaël Courchesne all represented Saint John last year.
