SEA DOGS NOTEBOOK

YEAR-END VIDEO
SeaDogsTV has posted the Sea Dogs’ year-end video that was shown at yesterday’s Memorial Cup sendoff.

DeSERRES IS READY
Sea Dogs goaltender Jacob DeSerres is getting another chance at the Memorial Cup.

"It's just starting to sink in that we won the Q and now I get another shot at the Mem-Cup," said DeSerres on Monday night to Luber’s Lounge, "I get a chance to go at it again and try to use my knowledge with the boys on the team."

DeSerres and the Brandon Wheat Kings fell to the Windsor Spitfires in last year’s final.

BACK TO TORONTO
Sea Dogs associate coach and director of hockey operations Mike Kelly will get another chance at try and win a national championship in the Toronto area. Kelly and the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds fell in the CIS final way back in 1997.

There are a lot of similarities between the V-Reds of the late 90’s and the Sea Dogs of today. David Ritchie has the details over at The Daily Gleaner.

OUT OF HOSPITAL
Injured Sea Dogs forward Jason Cameron tweeted yesterday that he is finally out of hospital in Gatineau. Cameron has been suffering from a bruised kidney and will miss the Memorial Cup.

SEA DOGS PREVIEW
Open Ice Hockey is previewing the four teams that will play in the Memorial Cup. They previewed the Sea Dogs yesterday.

CONCERT
Via @msconduct's Twitter, there is going to be some concert in the Hershey Centre parking lot tomorrow as Memorial Cup week kicks off.

NHL.com ARTICLE
NHL.com had an article on the Sea Dogs journey to the Memorial Cup yesterday.

"Our goal all along was to reach the Memorial Cup and see how it goes," Gallant told NHL.com. "We've had a great season here and we'd be disappointed if we lost out. That said, we know things happen in the playoffs … we just hope to stay healthy, hope to play to our limitations and work hard every night."
They also had an article on Nathan Beaulieu.

LIFE ON THE ROAD
The Sea Dogs’ road success during the playoffs will hopefully relate to success in Mississauga.

"We didn't lose a game on the road in the playoffs and that says a lot about our team," Sea Dogs head coach Gerard Gallant said to the Canadian Press. "We played a hell of a playoff series and our team just doesn't quit. We have a lot of character."

BEAULIEU ON NHL LIVE
Nathan Beaulieu went on NHL Live yesterday.

THIRD JERSEY CONCEPT
A reader randomly found this on the internets and sent it to us. We’re going to guess this was sent to the Sea Dogs when they were looking for third jersey design ideas last season.

Not a bad design. The Reversing Falls Bridge at the bottom is a nice touch.

The Sea Dogs announced awhile ago that they had scrapped plans to create a third jersey.

  1. That third jersey concept is incredible. That was done by a fan?
