Colisee de Rimouski – Rimouski, Que.
PREVIEW
RIMOUSKI, Que. – The Saint John Sea Dogs begin a three-in-three road trip through Quebec tonight in Rimouski. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:30pm at Colisee de Rimouski.

Saint John will also play in Victoriaville tomorrow and in Sherbrooke on Sunday to complete the trip. The Dogs have been decent on the road this year and have a 9-9-0-0 record.

The Sea Dogs enter play tonight with an 18-21-0-0 record which places them fifth in the Telus Maritimes Division and 14th overall in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. They are 4-6-0-0 in their last 10 games.

Tonight’s game sort of feels like the beginning of the second half. Saint John traded away many veterans during the trading period and will have some new faces in the lineup tonight. The Dogs roster certainly looks a lot different than it did a couple months ago.

With Jonathan Huberdeau gone to the Florida Panthers and others traded away, Jakub Izacky is Saint John’s leading scorer. He has 15 points in 34 games.

Rimouski is having a solid season after losing to Saint John in last year’s President’s Cup final. They enter tonight’s game with a 26-11-1-4 record and sit fourth overall in the league. They are just two points back of the second-place Baie-Comeau Drakkar.

Fredericton native Peter Trainor leads the Oceanic is scoring with 60 points in 42 games.

Tonight’s game will be the first meeting between the Sea Dogs and Oceanic since the Kevin Gagne trade. The 20-year old defenseman will face the team he spent four-and-a-half seasons with this evening.
