Saab Signs With ECHL Kalamazoo

Former Sea Dogs defenseman Ian Saab has signed with the East Coast Hockey League’s Kalamazoo Wings. The Wings made the announcement today.

The Halifax native was acquired by the Sea Dogs in the Lewiston Maineiacs Dispersal Draft in 2011. He helped Saint John win the President Cup in 2012, recording two goals and seven assists in 52 regular season games and another three assists in 12 playoff contests.

Saab spent the first half of last season playing in Austria before returning to North America and rejoining the Sea Dogs as an overager. He had five assists in 28 regular season games and no points in three playoff games.

Former Sea Dogs Yann Sauve and Steven Anthony both played for the Wings last season. The team is affiliated with the Vancouver Canucks.
