In a minor league deal, the Minnesota
Wild traded Phillips to the Bruins in exchange for former London Knight Jared
Knight.
Phillips has struggled offensively since
turning pro, recording just 27 goals and 48 assists in 196 games with the Wild’s
AHL affiliates. He averaged over a point per game in his QMJHL career.
Zack Phillips
asked to be traded from #mnwild....Wild
accomodated it. He was going nowhere in this organization; time for a
change

Phillips was selected by the Wild in the
first-round, 28th overall in 2011.
Knight played against Phillips and the
Sea Dogs at the 2012 Memorial Cup in Shawinigan.
The NHL’s trading period ended this
afternoon.
