Williams injured; Bagnell recalled

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. - The Saint John Sea Dogs made a roster move this afternoon.

The team announced that goaltender Stewart Bagnell has joined the club for its three-in-three Quebec road trip, which begins this evening in Baie-Comeau.

According to Sea Dogs broadcaster Tim Roszell, the recall is due to an injury to Matt Williams.

The news is especially noteworthy because it's highly unlikely Alex D'Orio start all three games of this trip, meaning Bagnell or a healthy Williams will get a start.

Bagnell, 16, was an eighth round pick of Saint John in this year's QMJHL Entry Draft. He has been playing with the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League's Steele Subaru Major Midgets this year.

According to a Sea Dogs press release, Bagnell "is in his second season with Steele Subaru. In ten games, he is 8-2 with a 2.20 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage."

Saint John's road trip continues tomorrow in Chicoutimi and Saturday in Shawinigan.
