RECAP: Sea Dogs win 4-3 (OT)

FINAL: Val-d'Or 3, Saint John 4 (OT)
SAINT JOHN - The longest losing streak in Saint John Sea Dogs franchise history is over.

The Sea Dogs ended their 17-game losing skid on Friday night at Harbour Station, erasing a two-goal third period deficit to defeat the Val-d'Or Foreurs 4-3 in overtime.

Robbie Burt scored a hat trick for Saint John - which included the game-winner - in what was just the club's third victory all season and first since Oct. 9.

The Foreurs went up 2-0 early in the second period but Burt's goal at 8:50 got the Dogs back within one. A late goal by Val-d'Or gave the visitors a 3-1 lead heading into the final frame, which set up some dramatics rarely seen this season.

Charlie DesRoches scored at 10:26 of the third and then Burt scored just 45 seconds later, tying the match at 3-3. Saint John outshot Val-d'Or 21-13 in the third.

At 2:24 of overtime, Burt completed his hat trick to secure the win.

Alex D'Orio made 36 stops in the victory.

Nicolas Ouellet, Jacob Gaucher and Jeremy Michel scored for the Foreurs. Jonathan Lemieux made 41 stops in the loss.
