- The season isn't quite over yet for the Saint John Sea Dogs, but now we know when and where they'll be playing in 2022-23.

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League unveiled its full regular season schedule for the upcoming campaign on Tuesday. The season gets rolling on Sept. 22 when the President Cup champion Shawinigan Cataractes host the Gatineau Olympiques.

The Sea Dogs begin regular season play on Saturday, Sept. 24, hosting the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at TD Station. They travel to Bathurst the following afternoon.

Saint John will play four of their first six games at home before making an early season journey to Quebec Oct. 14-16. The Sea Dogs will make four separate three-game road trips to Quebec in 2022-23.

The Sea Dogs play their final game of the first half on Dec. 17 and resume play on Dec. 28. Saint John will play seven home games in the month of December, including a 2 p.m. New Year's Eve contest against the Moncton Wildcats.

On Family Day (Monday, Feb. 20), the Sea Dogs will host the Charlottetown Islanders in a 2 p.m. match.

The regular season ends on Saturday, March 25 with the Sea Dogs hosting the Titan.

Here's hoping that COVID doesn't wreck yet another regular season schedule and the 2022-23 campaign ends on time.

The 2022 pre-season schedule has also been released. The schedule, which has been known to change between now and August, has the Sea Dogs playing eight games. Like last season, the Sea Dogs are scheduled to play their home games at Fredericton's Aitken Centre. Those matches will have a bit more meaning this time around thanks to the Gardiner MacDougall connection.

Of the Sea Dogs' eight pre-season games, only one will be played in a QMJHL venue (Bathurst's KC Irving Regional Centre). The team is also scheduled to visit Dieppe (Moncton Wildcats), Dartmouth (Halifax Mooseheads) and Lamèque, NB (Titan).

The Sea Dogs have never played in Lamèque before. They played the Titan in somewhat nearby Tracadie-Sheila several years ago.
