Game Day 46: at Val-d'Or

VAL-D'OR, QC - The Saint John Sea Dogs will look to keep on rolling this week in Quebec.

The Sea Dogs begin their final three-game Quebec road trip tonight, visiting the Val-d'Or Foreurs. They visit Rouyn-Noranda tomorrow before heading south to close out the trip on Saturday in Gatineau.

The Sea Dogs have won three straight road games, which includes back-to-back 7-3 wins this past weekend - one in Bathurst and the other in Moncton. With 34 points, Saint John is in the mix for the final playoff spots, making every game meaningful.

The Foreurs sit just six points ahead of the Sea Dogs in the overall standings.

Game time tonight is 8 p.m.

2022-23 regular season records: The Sea Dogs are 16-27-1-1 for 34 points (sixth Maritimes/10th Eastern/18th QMJHL) while the Foreurs are 19-26-2-0 for 40 points (fourth West/eighth Western/14th QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 7-3 win in Moncton on Saturday. Cole Burbidge, Nico Laforge and Pavel Simek each scored twice while Brady Burns added a single. Olivier Brideau made 32 saves in the win. The Foreurs are coming off a 3-2 home loss to the Baie-Comeau Drakkar on Sunday. Louis Robin and Mathis Cloutier scored for Val-d'Or. Mathys Fernandez made 29 stops in the loss.

2022-23 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 0-1-0-0 against the Foreurs this season while Val-d'Or is 1-0-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Nov. 26 at TD Station where the Foreurs defeated the Sea Dogs 6-3. Alexandre Doucet scored a pair of goals for Val-d'Or while Louis Robin, Justin Robidas, William Provost and Alexandre Guy added singles. Pavel Simek, Nicolas Bilodeau and Cole Burbidge scored for Saint John. Adam Rouleau made 40 stops in the win. Ventsislav Shingarov made 18 stops in the loss.
