The Gatineau Olympiques scored four times in both the second and third periods en route to a dominant 11-3 win over the Sea Dogs at Slush Puppie Centre. The Olympiques have now won five straight games as they try and keep pace with the Sherbrooke Phoenix atop the Western Conference.
Gatineau has loaded up for a big playoff run and it showed in this game. The 'Piques were in control from start to finish, outshooting Saint John 51-24.
Samuel Savoie, Zachary Dean and Olivier Boutin each scored a pair of goals for Gatineau while singles came from Alexis Gendron, Antoine Michaud, Cole Cormier, Colin Ratt and Marcel Marcel. Backup netminder Emerik Despatie made 21 saves in the win.
Saint John had a pair of goals from Alex Drover and a solo marker from Vince Elie. Ventsislav Shingarov was pulled in the second period after allowing five goals on 18 shots. Gatineau native Olivier Brideau allowed six goals on 33 shots in relief.

SCRATCHES: The Sea Dogs were without defenseman Jeremie Richard (healthy) along with forwards Peter Reynolds (injury), Harrison Ballard (healthy), Jacob Beaulieu (healthy) and Nathan Casey (injury).
MACDONALD: The Sea Dogs faced former teammate Cam MacDonald for the first time. MacDonald finished the night with two assists, one shot and a +1 rating.
NOTES: The Sea Dogs went with 11 forwards and seven defensemen once again... there were quite a few Sea Dogs fans in attendance. The team has some Gatineau area players... Alex Drover had four shots... Vincent Despont had a game he'll like to forget, finishing a -7... Samuel Savoie had five points (two goals and three assists) while Zachary Dean (two goals and two assists) and Marcel Marcel (one goal and three assists) each had four... a total of three penalties were called in the game... the Sea Dogs finish the season with a 1-1-0-0 record against the Olympiques... the Sea Dogs are now 0-2-0-0 all-time at the Slush Puppie Centre... attendance was 4,580.
