Sea Dogs still in playoff race

Michael Hawkins/Saint John Sea Dogs
The Saint John Sea Dogs are far from out of the playoff race, but their winless long weekend certainly didn't help things.

The Sea Dogs fell 8-2 to the Sherbrooke Phoenix on Friday night before dropping two close matches to the Charlottetown Islanders on Saturday and Monday. Saint John has now dropped three straight games after winning back-to-back matches.

Saint John remains in 17th-place with 40 points, four points back of the Val-d'Or Foreurs who currently own the 16th and final playoff spot. The Sea Dogs have, however, played one less game than the Foreurs.
The top-16 teams in the QMJHL's overall standings qualify for the post-season.

The Sea Dogs have three games coming up this week, including two matchups with the Cape Breton Eagles.

And here's the Acadie-Bathurst Titan's schedule.

Saint John has 14 games remaining in the regular season. Of those 14 games they'll play Cape Breton four times, Charlottetown three times and Bathurst three times.
