SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs will look to get
back on track tonight.
The Sea Dogs lost 3-0 to the Moncton Wildcats last night
in Amherst. The two teams battle again this evening at 7pm at Harbour Station.
There are plenty tickets available for Saint John’s first pre-season game
played at the Station this season.
Last night’s loss dropped the Sea Dogs to 1-3 in Quebec
Major Junior Hockey League exhibition play this year. Their lone win was
against the PEI Rocket in their pre-season opener. Since then they have lost
matches to the Rocket, Acadie-Bathurst Titan, and the Wildcats.
Saint John’s offense didn’t have a great game last night
at Amherst Stadium. They were shutout, were outshot 26-19, and went 0-for-8 on
the power play. Obviously, they’ll want to improve on that performance tonight.
Allain Saulnier, Christophe Lalonde, and James Melindy
scored for the ‘Cats. Dmitri Jaskin led the team with five shots on
goal and three hits. Alex Dubeau stopped on 19 shots he faced.
Moncton improved to 2-3-0 in pre-season play with the
victory. They’ve been outscored 20-16 in the five games.
Following tonight’s game, the Sea Dogs have this week to
prepare for their next exhibition match. The Dogs travel to Halifax on Friday
to take on the Mooseheads.
