The Sea Dogs announced today that they’ve invited 20-year
old Lukas Walter to training camp on a tryout.
According to a press release, Walter “is expected to practice
with the team this afternoon.” Hopefully he didn’t fly to St. John’s.
The Langley, BC native has spent the past two seasons in
the Western Hockey League with the Tri-City Americans. In 117 WHL games the forward
has recorded one goal, four assists, and 165 penalty minutes. According to HockeyFights.com he has 24 fights in his regular season career in the Dub.
Elite Prospects has the winger listed at 5’11” and 190
lbs.
Walter joins forward Jason Cameron and defenseman David Weckworth as overage
players at Sea Dogs camp.
Saint John’s next pre-season game is on Friday night in
Bouctouche against the Moncton Wildcats.
