Tickets to the Saint John Sea Dogs’ three pre-season home
games go on sale to the general public this morning at 10am.
Saint John hosts the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on
August 15, the Halifax Mooseheads on August 22, and the Charlottetown Islanders
on September 5 in pre-season QMJHL action.
Tickets to the Sea Dogs’ exhibition opener are free of
charge. The Harbour Station website says tickets can only be picked up in
person at the box office and cannot be “purchased” over phone or online.
Seats to Saint John’s other pre-season games cost $10.
The Sea Dogs’ pre-season schedule also has them playing
the Mooseheads in Dartmouth and Truro and the Islanders in Charlottetown.
Saint John’s regular season begins in
Charlottetown on September 12. Their home opener is on September 19 against the
Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
My understanding is some of the people applying for the game day host job will be doing some of the pre-season games so hopefully people will get out to check them out too. I think a good game day host could really change the game day experience. While some of the other hosts have sounded good on the mic they haven't seemed that interested in the sport of hockey and seemed like they really knew much about the players. Not sure if that was just the way they had their game day scripts done for them or not. I know at other QMJHL maritime locations there are some game day hosts that really get the crowds attention. Saint John is a tough crowd to get into games so it will take just the right person to make the right fit.
