The Sea Dogs announced this afternoon that their training
camp roster has been reduced to 43.
Forwards Alex Kealey, Troy MacTavish, and Reid Murphy
have all left Saint John in order to maintain their NCAA eligibility.
Kealey, a 16-year old from Ottawa, posted 12 goals and 28 points in 27 games with the
Ottawa Senators Midget AAA club last season. He added three goals and 11 points
in 14 playoff games.
MacTavish, also a 16-year old from Ottawa, had 12 goals and 35 points in 28 games with the Ottawa
Senators Midget AAA team. He added seven goals and 13 points in 14 playoff
games.
Murphy, a 17-year old from Stittsville, Ontario,
registered four goals and five assists in 31 games with the CCHL’s Pembroke
Lumber Kings.
Saint John’s training camp roster includes six
goaltenders, 11 defensemen and 26 forwards.
The Sea Dogs will practice at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
tomorrow in preparation for the 7:00 p.m. pre-season game against the Cape
Breton Screaming Eagles. Tickets for the game can be picked up free of charge
at the Harbour Station box office.
