A few things and thoughts on the eve of training camp…
- Buzzing The Net has an interview with Luke Green.
- The Sea Dogs website has video interviews with Olivier LeBlanc, Jack Van Boekel, and Darrell Young.
- John Moore has a couple new Sea Dogs videos up. Luke Green talks about heading off to training camp and Darrell Young discusses the team’s import picks.
- 2014 draft picks who are not on the camp roster are: Jake Massie (5th round), Marshall Rifai (8th round), Alexandre Joncas (12th round), and Lincoln Griffin (14th round).
- Isaac Ceh, Monte Graham, and Chris Sarault are the only Americans coming to camp. It’ll be interesting to see how long they stay.
- Alexander McQuaid and Bailey Webster are the only two Prince Edward Islanders on the camp roster. That’s far fewer than the annual amount during the Gallant/Kelly era.
- As previously mentioned, Sebastien Auger and Mark Tremaine are the only 1994-born players currently on the camp roster with Michael Abbott not attending. So there’s likely more roster addition(s) to come over the next few weeks.
- Darrell Young really delivered on his promise to bring in a bunch of free agents. This should be a fun few weeks.
- Per his Twitter, it sounds like Alexander Kealy will be coming to Dogs camp. The 16-year old forward from Ottawa had 12 goals and 16 assists in 27 games with the Ottawa Senators Midget AAA team if the OEMHL last season.
- Training camp begins tomorrow morning at Harbour Station. The Sea Dogs kick off the pre-season on Friday at home against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
