Jakub Zboril may have a few more eyes watching him at the
Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament following his performance in an exhibition game
yesterday.
The Sea Dogs prospect recorded two goals and two assists
in the Czech Republic’s back-and-forth 7-5 loss to Team Canada in
pre-tournament action.
“Czech D-man Jakub Zboril making a strong case in the
pre-season as one of the top 10 draft eligible players in the 2015 NHL Draft,”
tweeted his agent Allan Walsh last night.
The Czechs are co-hosting the tournament with Slovakia. They
are in a tough Group A with Russia, Finland, and the United States. Here is the Czech’s schedule:
Monday, August 11 vs USA
Tuesday, August 12 vs Finland
Wednesday, August 13 vs Russia
The 17-year old defender was taken fifth overall by Saint John in this year’s CHL Import Draft. He will arrive at Sea Dogs camp following the tournament.
