One of the most anticipated training camps
in Saint John Sea Dogs team history begins on Monday at Harbour Station.
The team finally released their training camp roster and
schedule this afternoon. Camp begins on Monday with a couple of scrimmages. As always, training camp is open to the public.
47 players are expected to take part in training
camp. They’ll be split into two teams for the scrimmages on Monday and Tuesday.
The roster, which can be found here, is highlighted by
Saint John’s top draft picks from May’s QMJHL Entry Draft: defenseman Luke
Green and forwards Julien Tessier and Matt Green.
As promised by general manager Darrell Young, there
are a ton of free agent invites from Ontario coming in which should make things quite competitive.
Michael Abbott will not be attending camp, meaning
goaltender Sebastien Auger and forward Mark Tremaine are the only 20-year olds
that will be on Harbour Station ice next week.
Also, import picks Jakub Zboril and Nikita Lee will
arrive at a later time. Zboril is playing in the Ivan Hlinka Memorial
Tournament and Lee is waiting for a travel visa. However, 2013 pick Juraj Siska is expected to take part in camp.
According to a team release, more free agent invites could be announced next week.
We’ll break down Saint John’s camp roster more in the
coming days.
