ZBORIL SCORES AGAIN
It was another good day for Jakub Zboril and the Czech
Republic at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament on Tuesday.
Zboril scored and added an assist in the Czechs hard fought 4-3 victory over Finland. Zboril had a goal and an assist against the US
on Monday and two goals and two assists in a pre-tournament game against Canada
on Saturday.
Zboril’s four points place him fourth in tournament
scoring and first amongst defensemen.
The Czech Republic, 2-0, take on Russia today in their
final preliminary round game.
Meanwhile, Team Canada improved to 2-0 with a 5-1 victory
over Sweden yesterday. They face Slovakia today.

A reminder that tickets to Saint John’s pre-season opener
on Friday against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles are free of charge. Tickets
for the 7:00 p.m. contest can be picked up at the Harbour Station box office.
MILL RATS SKED
The Saint John Mill Rats released their 2014-15 schedule
yesterday. They begin the season on the road in Moncton on November 1. Their
home opener is on November 9 against the Island Storm.
Of note, the basketball team will be hosting Moncton on
New Year’s Day at 7:00 p.m.
