Recap: Sea Dogs lose 8-2

FINAL: Saint John 2, Cape Breton 8
SYDNEY, NS - It was another rough night for the Saint John Sea Dogs against the Cape Breton Eagles.

After falling 7-2 to the Eagles on home ice on Wednesday, the Sea Dogs travelled to Sydney on Friday and did not fare any better, falling 8-2 at Centre 200.

Shawn Bourdias led the way for the Eagles, recording three goals and an assist. Egor Sokolov, who had a hat trick on Wednesday, registered two goals while singles came from Nathan Larose, Shawn Element and Ivan Ivan. Derek Gentile had five assists. Kevin Mandolese made 29 stops in the win.

Nicholas Deakin-Poot and Julian Vander Voet scored for Saint John. Zachary Bouthillier made 40 stops in the loss.

The Sea Dogs led 1-0 after the first period but the wheels quickly came off in the second. Cape Breton scored four in the middle frame and another four in the third to cruise to their seventh straight victory.
