Sea Dogs At AHL Camps Update

HAMILTON BULLDOGS
Kevin Gagne and Stephen MacAulay each had points in the Hamilton Bulldogs’ 3-1 loss to the Toronto Marlies on Saturday night.

“The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 4:19 of the opening stanza on a goal by Stephen MacAulay,” states the Bulldogs’ website. “After Kevin Gagne put the puck on the net, MacAulay shovelled in the rebound from the top of the crease with a backhander past Toronto Marlies starting goaltender Ben Scrivens.”

Former Sea Dog Robert Mayer took the loss in net.

The Bulldogs and Marlies play again tonight in the final pre-season game of the year.

HERSHEY BEARS
Stanislav Galiev had a goal in the Hershey Bears’ 3-2 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday.

“The visitors got the equalizer at 5:41 of the second period,” states the Washington Capitals website. “With a delayed penalty call coming against the Penguins and with Holtby off for an extra attacker, the puck came to the left corner were Stanislav Galiev was waiting. Galiev banked a shot from the goal line off of Zatkoff and in to knot the score.”

On Sunday, the Bears defeated the Penguins again, this time by score of 3-1.

HOUSTON AEROS
Charlie Coyle had two goals as the Houston Aeros defeated the Oklahoma City Barons 6-2 on Saturday night.


Houston continued to bring the offensive pressure and got rewarded at 5:50 as Charlie Coyle knocked down a bouncing puck and put it past Danis from the far side to put the Aeros up 3-1. 
Coyle added his second goal of the game at 18:20 to secure Houston’s 6-2 win.

That wraped up the Aeros pre-season. They begin the regular season on Saturday against the Charlotte Checkers.

BINGHAMTON SENATORS
The Binghamton Senators wrapped up the pre-season with a 6-3 win over the Albany Devils on Saturday. According to the Senators website, former Sea Dog Mike Hoffman recorded a goal and two assists in the victory.

According to the Devils’ PR Twitter, Eric Gelinas was in the lineup for Albany on this game. This was Albany’s final pre-season game as well.

CHICAGO WOLVES
The Chicago Wolves posted a 3-1 win over the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday to complete their pre-season. Mathieu Corbeil was theWolves backup goaltender and did not play.

GRAND RAPIDS GRIFFINS
The Grand Rapids Griffins played their first game of the pre-season on Saturday and lost 3-1 to the Lake Erie Monsters. Tomas Jurco had one shot on goal in the game.

On Sunday, the Griffins defeated the Monsters 4-2 at the University of Michigan’s beautiful Yost Ic Arena. Jurco was a +1 and had two shots.

SYRACUSE CRUNCH
Danick Gauthier and the Syracuse Crunch played their final pre-season game on Sunday, defeating the St. John’s IceCaps 6-5. The Crunch won all three of their games in Newfoundland.
