Sea Dogs Nearly Make CHL Top 10

Off to a solid 4-1-0-0 start, the Saint John Sea Dogs nearly cracked this week’s BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings. The latest edition of rankings were released this afternoon.

Saint John has dominated the Top 10 over the past two seasons, sitting in the No. 1 spot for much of the time. But, they’ll have to settle for an honourable mention this time around despite having more wins than seven of the teams listed. Just accept these rankings and move on.

The Quebec Remparts were ranked No. 1 this week. Other Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams to make the cut were the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada at No. 5 and Halifax Mooseheads at No. 7.

The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League’s Top 10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.

Here are the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings for week three:

1. Quebec Remparts (5-0-0-0)
2. Edmonton Oil Kings (3-1-0-0)
3. Kitchener Rangers (3-1-0-0)
4. London Knights (2-2-0-0)
5. Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (3-0-0-1)
6. Kamloops Blazers (3-0-0-1)
7. Halifax Mooseheads (4-1-0-0)
8. Portland Winterhawks (3-2-0-0)

The Sea Dogs face the 7th ranked Mooseheads in a home-and-home series this weekend beginning Friday night at Harbour Station.
