GAME DAY 47: vs Screaming Eagles

A preview of today’s game between the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and Saint John Sea Dogs…

Records: The Screaming Eagles are fifth in the Maritimes Division and 15th overall in the QMJHL with a record of 19-22-2-3 for 43 points. The Sea Dogs are second in the Maritimes and fifth overall with a 25-14-1-6 record for 57 points.

Last games: The Screaming Eagles are coming off a 7-1 win in Moncton last night. Maxim Lazarev had a hat trick while singles came from Jeremie Beaudin, Kyle Farrell, Stephen Anderson and Marcus Hinds. Alexandre Belanger made 30 saves in the win. The Sea Dogs are coming off a 6-4 win over the Screaming Eagles on Friday at Harbour Station. Nathan Noel had four goals while Adam Marsh and Thomas Chabot also scored. Alex Bishop and Blade Mann-Dixon combined to make 34 saves.

2014-15 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 5-1-0-0 against the Screaming Eagles this season while Cape Breton is 1-4-0-1 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Friday at Harbour Station when the Sea Dogs erased a three-goal first period deficit to defeat the Screaming Eagles 6-4. Nathan Noel had four goals for Saint John while Adam Marsh and Thomas Chabot added solo markers. Alex Bishop was pulled after allowing three goals on 17 shots. In relief, Blade Mann-Dixon made 20 saves. Stephen Anderson scored twice for Cape Breton while singles came from Clark Bishop and Evgeny Svechnikov. Alexandre Belanger made 29 saves in the loss.
