Breaking Down The Midterm Rankings

The Saint John Sea Dogs really captured the attention of NHL scouts in the first half of the 2014-15 season. Nine players and three draft choices were listed on Central Scouting’s midterm draft rankings that were released today. They are:

In addition to these 12 players, current Sea Dogs Mathieu Joseph, Boko Imama and Matthew Highmore could enhance their chances of being drafted with strong performances throughout the final 23 regular season games and playoffs.

The Charlottetown Islanders are the QMJHL team with the second highest tally of players ranked in the midterm report with five. The Quebec Remparts and Rouyn-Noranda Huskies follow with four each. Anthony Beauvillier (SHA) at 49, Anthony Richard (V-D) at 103 and Alexandre Goulet (CHA) at 163 are three players that should be moved much higher based on their recent performances. Also, a couple of noticeable absences from the list are Moncton's league leading scorer Connor Garland and top defenceman Jacob Sweeney.
