Game Day 7: at Sherbrooke

The big road trip continues today for the Saint John Sea Dogs (4-2-0-0) when they take on the Phoenix (2-3-0-1) in Sherbrooke. Game time is 4 p.m.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 4-2 win in Quebec City on Friday. Samuel Dove-McFalls scored twice while singles came from Bokondji Imama and Matthew Highmore. Alex Bishop made 14 saves in the win. The Phoenix are coming off a 3-0 loss in Blainville-Boisbriand on Friday. Evan Fitzpatrick made 22 saves in the loss.

2016-17 head-to-head: This is the first meeting of the season between the two.

2015-16 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs were 2-0-0-0 against the Phoenix last season while Sherbrooke went 0-1-1-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Nov. 27, 2015 in Saint John where the Sea Dogs defeated the Phoenix 6-2. Sam Povorozniouk, Adam Bateman, Nicholas Blachman, Oliver Felixson, Mathieu Joseph and Nathan Noel all scored for Saint John. Sherbrooke goals came from Nicolas Poulin and Guillaume Gauthier. Marc-Antoine Turcotte made 17 saves in the win while Alexandre Lagace made 42 in the loss.

Random stat: Quispamsis native Anderson MacDonald is off to a hot start with the Phoenix, recording seven goals and an assist in six games. He leads the QMJHL rookie scoring race.

1. The Sea Dogs have won four games in a row after losing the first two games of the season.

2. This is the second game of a five-game road trip for Saint John. They played in Quebec City on Friday and will travel to Blainville-Boisbriand, Val-d’Or and Rouyn-Noranda later this week.
