Game Day 35: at Moncton

Coming off one of their worst loses of the season, the Saint John Sea Dogs (22-8-3-1, 1st Maritimes, 1st QMJHL) look to rebound tonight in Moncton against the new-look Wildcats (13-21-0-0, 6th Maritimes, 18th QMJHL). Game time is 7 p.m.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 3-0 loss in Bathurst on Wednesday. Callum Booth made 36 saves in the loss. The Wildcats are coming off a 5-1 loss in Cape Breton on Wednesday. Alexandre Renaud scored Moncton's lone goal. Dominik Tmej made 39 saves in the loss.

2016-17 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 3-1-0-1 against the Wildcats this season while Moncton is 2-3-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Dec. 7 at Harbour Station where the Sea Dogs defeated the Wildcats 4-0. Matthew Highmore, Kyle Ward, Mathieu Joseph and Bokondji Imama all scored for Saint John. Alex D'Orio made 19 saves in the shutout win.

2. The Sea Dogs made a major trade today, acquiring Rimouski captain Simon Bourque. Over the past couple weeks, the rebuilding Wildcats have basically traded half of their team away.

3. Saint John was missing plenty of regulars on Wednesday in Bathurst. They were without: Mathieu Joseph (World juniors - Canada), Thomas Chabot (World juniors - Canada), Jakub Zboril (World juniors - Czech Republic), Nathan Noel (upper body), Matt Green (upper body), Vincent Martineau (flu) and Chase Stewart (upper body). Martineau has since been traded and the team also recently dealt Luke Green.

Jeremy McKenna leads the Wildcats in scoring with 14 points...
