The Sea Dogs have dropped three straight New Year's Eve games and haven't won on the final day of the calendar year since 2019. Saint John will look to end the skid when they host the Newfoundland Regiment at 2 p.m. at TD Station.
The Sea Dogs are 6-8-0-0 all-time on New Year's Eve.

While Wednesday's game will be the Regiment's first appearance at TD Station, this will be the third straight year the Sea Dogs have played the Regiment/Acadie-Bathurst Titan franchise on New Year's Eve. You have to wonder if the Sea Dogs will be making the trip to St. John's to ring in 2027.
The Sea Dogs have played the Wildcats seven times on New Year's Eve; Bathurst three times; Charlottetown twice; Cape Breton once; and Halifax once.
Saint John will play their next five games at home (which includes an Aitken Centre game) and will host the Regiment three times during that span. Saint John travelled to St. John's in October and lost both games.
