SaintJohnSeaDogs.com’s recap. The Saint John Sea Dogs topped off the biggest celebration in team history with a 6-0 win over the Chicoutimi Sagueneens Saturday.

SN Live Blog Replay. No sell-out crowd for Night of Champions.

NOT PLAYING: The Sea Dogs didn’t make any changes to their lineup. Defenseman Tyrone Sock (healthy) and forwards Devon Oliver-Dares (personal reasons) and Stanislav Galiev (broken wrist) were out once again.

FIRST PERIOD: Saint John had yet another strong first period, scoring twice and outshooting Chicoutimi 17-4. The Sags only eight shots through the first two periods.

FORMER DOGS: It was a fairly quiet night for the former Sea Dogs now playing for Chicoutimi.

Defenseman Guillaume Cloutier was a -1 and had no shots, defenseman Gabriel Bourret had one shot and was a -3 and forward Alexandre Beauregard was a -1 and had seven penalty minutes.

Both Bourret and Beauregard helped Saint John capture the Memorial Cup last year. They skated out in Sea Dogs jerseys to pick up their championship rings during the pre-game ceremonies.

JURCO: With a goal and two assists, Tomas Jurco extended his point streak to 10 games. Over that span he has recorded six goals and nine assists. He was only held pointless once in 11 October games.

WINNING STREAK: The win gave the Sea Dogs their seventh straight victory. They haven’t lost since that ugly 5-1 game in Gatineau on October 12. Over those seven games, Saint John has outscored the opposition 46-11. The Dogs have recorded three shutouts over that span as well.

WEST’S FIRST: Grant West scored his first career QMJHL goal at 7:55 of the second period, roofing the disc over Christopher Gibson. He had some decent linemates at the time of goal as Jonathan Huberdeau and Zack Phillips picked up assists.

CORBEIL: Mathieu Corbeil made 24 saves in the win, picking up his third shutout in four games.

FIGHT: God tilt between West and Beauregard in the third period.

NEXT GAME: The Sea Dogs begin a three-game road trip in Quebec on Wednesday night at 8:30pm in Rimouski.
