The Saint John Sea Dogs learned today that if you lose a
game 7-0 you are going to take a tumble in the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10
Rankings.
After 17 straight weeks of being ranked first in the nation,
the Sea Dogs fell to No. 6. The Sea Dogs hit the road for three games this past
week, upending the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 3-1 on Wednesday, defeated the
Drummondville Voltigeurs 4-2 on Friday and then were blownout 7-0 by the
Victoriaville Tigres.
The 7-0 loss to the Tigres ended Saint John’s five-game
winning streak and dropped them to 5-4-0-0 on the season. The Sea Dogs were
ranked No. 1 in Canada in the pre-season rankings and again last week when they
were 3-3-0-0.
If you’re a Sea Dogs fan, don’t even bother getting
upset. Just accept it and move on.
Victoriaville fell from No. 4 to No. 5 this week. Other
Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams to crack the Top 10 were the Baie-Comeau
Drakkar at No. 2 and Shawinigan Cataractes at No. 8. The Cape Breton Screaming
Eagles were an honourable mention.
The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League’s Top
10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.
Here are the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings for week
