Two weekend wins could only push the Saint John Sea Dogs up a single spot in the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings.
After tumbling all the way down to No. 6 in the nation last week, the Sea Dogs moved up to the No. 5 position in the latest rankings that were released this afternoon. Saint John had a solid weekend, beating the Rimouski Oceanic 8-2 and the Victoriaville Tigres 6-2.
The Tigres, who were ranked fifth last week, slid all the way down to No. 10.
Other Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams to crack the CHL Top 10 were the Baie-Comeau Drakkar at No. 2 and the Shawinigan Cataractes at No. 7. The Quebec Remparts were a honourable mention.
Also a honourbale mention this week were the Ontario Hockey League’s Sarnia Sting. Former Sea Dogs bench boss and gernal manager Jacques Beaulieu is currently the head coach and GM of the Sting.
The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League’s Top 10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.

The Sea Dogs are on the road for three games this week. They play the Gatineau Olympiques tonight, Rouyn-Noranda Huskies on Friday and the Val-d’Or Foreurs on Saturday.
