Central Scouting Releases Final Rankings

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Central Scouting released their final rankings for the 2014 Entry Draft this afternoon. The draft takes place on May 31 in Sherbrooke.

Centre Pascal Laberge of the Chateauguay Grenadiers was the top ranked skater. Laberge had 20 goals and 23 assists in 40 Quebec Midget AAA games this past season and added another 11 goals and 13 assists in 21 post-season games. He helped his team reach the Telus Cup final.

Ranked second is Samuel Girard. The defenseman from the Jonquiere Elites was ranked second by HockeyProspect.com in their latest rankings behind only American Chad Krys.

The top ranked Atlantic Canadian was goaltender Evan Fitzpatrick, coming in at No. 4. Newfoundland forward Jordan Maher, who we have mentioned on this blog before, was ranked seventh.

For the first time since 2007, the Sea Dogs will be selecting first overall in the Entry Draft. The team has had the top selection three times and picked a defenseman each time.
