Before spending the next few days discussing the future
of the Saint John Sea Dogs, let us take a moment to appreciate the past.
It was three years ago today that Simon Despres, Zack
Phillips, and Jonathan Huberdeau scored to give the Sea Dogs a 3-1 victory over
the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors and win Atlantic Canada’s first Memorial
Cup championship.
In 2010-11, the Sea Dogs went a ridiculous 58-7-1-2 in
the regular season, 16-3 in the playoffs, and 3-0-1 at the Memorial Cup. Fun
times were had.
If you do anything today, take a look at Saint John’s lineup for the championship game. It’s completely stacked. What a team.
