Yet another trade rumour has surfaced
involving a Saint John Sea Dog.
According to an interview done on local French radio station CKLE-FM in Bathurst, Acadie-Bathurst Titan GM Sylvain Couturier revealed that the Titan are set to acquire Saint John Sea Dogs goaltender Antoine Landry at the draft in exchange for a sixth round draft pick in 2016.
Acadie Nouvelle also reports the same thing.
Landry, a Caraquet native, was a ninth-round pick of the Sea Dogs
in the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft and made the team after a solid training camp
last fall. In 15 games, Landry went 3-10 with a 4.81 goals against average and
a .867 save percentage.
This deal adds even more intrigue about Saint
John’s goaltending situation heading into next season. Will Sebastien Auger be
traded and for what? Will the Dogs actually be able to swing a deal for Callum
Booth. What will happen with prospect Christopher Smith?
The QMJHL’s trading period begins on May 30 and many
of the rumoured deals will become official then.
