Defenseman Jurij Repe has signed with AZ Havirov of the
Czech II league.
Repe has spent the past two seasons with the Sea Dogs but
it was highly unlikely he would return for a third. The defender is a
native of Slovenia and turns 20 in September, meaning he would take up both an
import and an overage spot.
In 49 games with Saint John last season, Repe recorded
seven goals and 13 assists. The year prior he registered three goals and eight
assists in 38 contests.
Repe was selected by the Sea Dogs with the 34th
overall pick in the 2012 CHL Import Draft.
The very exciting 2014 edition of the Import Draft will
take place on July 2. The Sea Dogs will select fifth overall.
UPDATE: Some clarification...
