SAINT JOHN – Winners of 10 straight, the Saint John Sea Dogs look to extend their winning streak to 11 tonight with the national spotlight on them. The Sea Dogs host the Quebec Remparts at 8pm at Harbour Station in a game that can be seen live coast-to-coast on Sportsnet.

Saint John enters action tonight with a record of 40-14-0-2 for 82 points. They are one-point up on the Shawinigan Cataractes for first-place overall in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The Dogs have are 22-5-0-1 at Harbour Station this season and have won five straight at home.

The Remparts enter tonight’s game with a record of 34-14-5-2 and sit third in the tough Telus East Division and fifth overall in the QMJHL with 75 points. They are six points back of the Shawinigan Cataractes for the division lead. Quebec has struggled of late, winning just five of their last 10.

The Remparts are 17-8-3-0 on the road this season and have outscored opponents 107-82.

PROMOTIONS
The Sea Dogs are asking fans to bring donations of nutritious cereal or breakfast bars to Friday’s game against the Quebec Remparts. All cereal collected will go to the breakfast programs at seven Community/PALS Schools in the city of Saint John.

It is also Country Music Night at Harbour Station, sponsored by CHSJ Country 94. Fans are encouraged to wear their cowboy boots and hats, on-air personalities will be in attendance and country music will be played throughout the game.

LAST GAMES
The Sea Dogs are coming off a dominating 10-1 win over the PEI Rocket on Wednesday in Charlottetown. Jonathan Huberdeau, Tomas Jurco, and Maxime Villemaire each scored twice while singles came from Charlie Coyle, Danick Gauthier, Oliver Cooper and Stanislav Galiev. Coyle, Huberdeau, and Ryan Tesink all added two assists apiece. Mathieu Corbeil made 21 saves for the win.


The Remparts are also coming off a blowout win. They defeated the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 9-1 on Tuesday night at Pepsi Colisee. Mikhail Girgorenko and Adam Erne each scored twice while singles came from Anthony Duclair, Martin Lefebvre, Gabriel Desjardins, Frederick Roy, and Marc-Antoine Carrier. Francois Brassard made 17 saves in net for the victory.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
The Sea Dogs and Remparts have met twice previously this season with each side winning once.

On October 23 at Harbour Station, Danick Gauthier scored twice with solo markers coming from Tomas Jurco, Jason Cameron, Nathan Beaulieu and Charles Roussel in a 6-0 Saint John victory. Jonathan Huberdeau added three assists while Mathieu Corbeil stopped all 22 shots he faced. Louis Domingue allowed six goals on 49 shots.


On November 22 at the Quebec Colisee, Mikhail Grigorenko had a hat trick for Quebec in a 4-1 win over Saint John. Patrick Walsh had the other Quebec goal while Zack Phillips scored for Saint John. Mathieu Corebil allowed four goals on 33 shots while Louis Domingue made 26 saves for the win.


SCORING LEADERS
Zack Phillips leads Saint John in scoring with 71 points (27G, 44A) in 49 games this season. Danick Gauthier leads the club in goals with 39 on the year while Phillips has registered a team high 44 assists.

Frederick Roy leads Quebec in scoring with 70 points (21G, 49A) in 52 games this year. Mikhail Grigorenko leads the Remparts in goals with 31 while Roy’s 49 assists are a team high.
